EOR and projects partners are exploring the potential for solar developments to restore drinking water quality in areas of high and at-risk nitrate contamination using the Nitrate Leaching Calculator to strategically locate these where groundwater is prone to contamination and where replacing nitrate-producing cropland would be most effective. This presentation outlines how solar can bring health to rural communities and restore eco-habitats, while providing cost savings to water providers and offering income-generating land use options for farmers.
