Education and Outreach Coordinator CSU Energy Institute Fort Collins, Colorado
Presentation Description: The Energy Institute at Colorado State University developed and is responsible for ongoing programming for a mobile classroom designed to inspire the next generation to meaningfully engage with engineering, renewable energy, and carbon challenge solutions. Students and the members of the public are provided authentic experiences that propel solution-seeking learning, foster clean energy relevance, and fulfill academic standards in a variety of disciplines. This program eliminates cost and geographic barriers by bringing learning labs to schools. We collaborate with teachers to customize the programming to meet the specific needs of each classroom. The Energy Institute is uniquely positioned to leverage our faculty's expertise to inform on the newest research to present to the public. Our program has already shown positive results having connected with over 750 students in the past year, and we are expanding our “fleet” to offer programming to every county in Colorado.
