Mr. Beanán O’Loughlin has over 15 years of experience in the wind energy industry. He is currently a Global Technical Lead at UL Solutions. He is responsible for wind resource and energy assessments as part of the Energy Advisory group. As well as performing and reviewing analyses, Beanán has managed technical teams and initiatives and lends his experience to ensuring the quality and accuracy of the energy results, and methods used to derive them. Prior to UL Solutions, Beanán worked for the wind turbine OEM, Enercon, managing site suitability work in Northern Europe and East Asia/Oceania. In that capacity, he facilitated the siting of wind turbines at complex sites in multiple countries and wind regimes. He began his Wind Energy career working for SSE Renewables/Airtricity in the UK and Ireland, where he managed measurement campaigns, worked on large scale acquisitions, and performed onshore and offshore energy analyses. Beanán holds a BSc in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Dublin Institute of Technology, and an MSc in Meteorology from University College Dublin. He also has a post graduate qualification in Energy from the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.
