Clay Gambill (he/him/his)

Director - Field Sales & Projects
Iowa Interstate Railroad

Clay has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry. He has spent the last 18 with BNSF Railway and BNSF Logistics prior to joining the Iowa Interstate Railroad in January of 2024. While at BNSF Railway, Clay spent time in the operations, demurrage, and sales teams eventually landing as a sales manager for the wind energy shippers. Clay spent nearly 7 years with BNSF Logistics where he lead a commercial team focused on over-dimensional shipping in North America, but specialized in the wind energy industry.

Clay founded and lead the Wind Energy Logistics Group (2017-2019), an organization made up of participants from 16 key companies across the wind energy supply chain, including major equipment manufacturers, transport and logistics companies, and wind energy developers and installers. Findings were published by Wood MacKenzie in 2018. Clay collaborated with DNV-GL in their study with the US DOE & Berkley National Labs for a report published in 2018 about the transportation of "supersized" wind turbine blades.
